Texas A&M football at South Carolina Gamecocks
After eight weeks of slowly building hype, I fear the Aggies will suffer a setback in the unfriendly confines of Williams Brice Stadium. South Carolina has beaten the Aggies exactly one time in their yearly series that has been ongoing since the memorable inauguration thereof in 2014. The lone Gamecock win was the terrible 2022 season for the Ags.
Even so, I think there’s a chance SC makes it two straight in Columbia against A&M. The grind of an SEC schedule can get to anyone, and I think the Ags may be riding high here while the Gamecocks will be hungry for a win—they’re another SEC team with an unfairly tough schedule.
Dylan Stewart (recently named a preseason freshman All-American by On3) is a bona fide five-star edge rusher. NCAA Football 25 players will recognize the name Nyck Harbor as well—a huge wideout with unreal speed out on the edge for the Gamecocks.
The freshman tackle tandem Shane Beamer has brought in could figure in as well to give USC a fighting chance on the offensive front. LaNorris Sellers is a slept-on quarterback in the ranks of the SEC as well.
I’m 60-40 on this one, but I think the Ags fall to 8-1 here before regrouping over the bye. Nothing like a well-timed off week to stoke the fires of existential football crises!
