Texas A&M football appears relatively healthy compared to the Florida Gators on initial injury report

Texas A&M football and the Florida Gators have released their initial injury reports following a new rule from the SEC this year. For those not in the know, the conference has implemented a new policy that, in conference play, teams must release a list of players who are injured, designating them as out, doubtful, questionable, or probable.

Here's how the breakdown looks for the Aggies and Gators.

The most notable thing here for the Aggies is the lack of Jabre Barber's name on the report. The electric receiver transfer out of Troy suffered an injury in spring practice, and was initially feared to be lost for the entire season. Now, it looks like he may be a full go as soon as game number 3 of the season, which is a huge win for the Aggies.

Scooby Williams is the only player for the Aggies who is questionable. Owens and Nabou were already known to be out for the year, so it looks like the Ags are relatively healthy otherwise.

The same cannot be said, though, for Florida. The Gators have ten players listed as out, and another six listed as questionable. The biggest name here is Eugene Wilson, who is the Gators' best receiver. If he is limited, then that would make it significantly difficult for UF to go deep in the pass game against the Ags.

QB Graham Mertz, who missed last week while in concussion protocol, also does not appear on the report. It remains to be seen if the Gators will start him.

The questionables could simply be some gamesmanship by the UF staff, who is in a bit of a tough spot at the moment. For that reason, I wouldn't put it past them. But it at least seems from this initial look that the Aggies will be bringing the healthier squad into the Swamp.
