Texas A&M football debuting new uniform combination for game against Arkansas
Texas A&M football set to wear white helmets with maroon jerseys and pants this Saturday against Arkansas
Texas A&M football is continuing to switch up their uniform combinations here in the Elko era. For game one, they wore white helmets for the first time in six years; for the Florida game, they wore the all-white uniforms for the first time in the same timespan.
Now, they've announced yet another uniform combination, making it four different looks in five games. This is one they have rarely rolled out, with the only other time in recent memory being back in 2013.
Also, can we give a hand to the media team for the excellent work they've done so far this year? This Stranger Things-inspired video is the latest in a line of great content the account has been putting out this season.
White helmets with maroon jerseys and maroon pants is obviously an inversion of the regular home combo for the Aggies: maroon helmets, maroon jerseys, and white pants. That's likely why the mirrored imagery was used in the video, as well as the upside-down text in the tweet.
As mentioned by Robert Behrens here, the last time the Aggies wore this uniform, the helmet was a special edition. The block ATM was colored in with an American flag pattern for military appreciation night, so this will be the first time in quite a while that the Aggies wear a normal white helmet with all-maroon otherwise.
I'm liking the innovation so far in all facets of the Mike Elko era. This is a sweet look, and I'm excited to see the Aggies in action in this combo.
