Texas A&M football will host five-star athlete Michael Terry on campus this weekend

Mike Elko and Texas A&M football continue to impress with how they have thus far performed in recruiting this spring. It's obviously early in the cycle, but it's a huge deal to be hosting this level of prospect as a habit—it portends big things for the Aggies.

The latest luminary to add his name to the weekend visitor list is five-star athlete Michael Terry, out of Alamo Heights in San Antonio. Terry is an electric prospect who can play both running back and receiver, though the Aggies are recruiting him as the latter.

This is not the first time that Terry has visited College Station, either. Mike Elko, Holmon Wiggins, and company got him to campus back in late January as well. For those keeping count, that's two visits in just over two months for one of the top athletes in the state—and the nation.

This is a statement recruitment for the Aggies. Adding a guy like Michael Terry would be a huge boost to the receiver room, as he brings a level of explosiveness and versatility that very few who have ever donned the Maroon and White have possessed.

For such an important recruitment, this is a big time development. Getting Terry to campus as much as possible helps establish a solid relationship that will pay off over the summer and into the fall.

When you consider the fact that the Aggies brought in Jonah Williams and Michael Fasusi last week, that makes three of the top eight players in Texas—all five-stars—to visit College Station in just a week's time. That's some serious, big time recruiting for the Aggie coaching staff.

There are others who the Aggies are in on—in fact, there's only one guy in that top 10 in the state that I'd think the Aggies are a real long shot with. Every other recruitment is one that they are right in the middle of—and that's where you want to be as a program.
