Texas A&M named as a team to watch for productive Arizona State transfer WR Elijhah Badger

After something of a quiet cycle at the wide receiver position in the winter portal window for Texas A&M football, Holmon Wiggins is certainly making some noise this spring cycle. One of the most productive wide receivers in the now-defunct PAC-12, Elijhah Badger out of Arizona State, has entered his name into the portal—and it looks like the Aggies are a team to watch.

At 6'2" and 190 LBs, Badger's skillset is that of a true #1 receiver. He can play every down and in any situation, possessing a versatile set of tools including reliable ball skills.

As a high school prospect, Badger was a top-200 player. The Aggies offered him back in 2019, but he eventually committed to the Sun Devils and has been in Tempe ever since. He is a redshirt senior with one year of eligibility left.

This is the exact type of guy the Aggies need to bring in at the receiver position. Badger would compete to start right away, pushing some of the other guys for playing time. He compares favorably to some of the receivers that have recently left the Aggies through the portal.

This would be a huge win, if the Aggies were to pull off the recruitment. As we have seen in the portal era, these deals can close very quickly—therefore, it is imperative that the Aggies get Badger on campus if they hope to bring him into the fold.

If they do get him on campus, it's tough to bet against them. Last cycle, the Aggies were able to close on their priority portal guys seemingly as soon as they came to College Station. If you manage to land both Badger and KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who is scheduled to visit this weekend, the receiver room is suddenly a huge strength.
