Texas A&M football lands high-priority 4-star TE over Texas, Auburn, and others
Texas A&M football beats Texas for yet another high-profile recruit as 4-star TE Kiotti Armstrong announces for Aggies
Texas A&M football made another big move on the recruiting trail today, landing one of the top athletes in the state. Jasper TE Kiotti Armstrong has long been a target of the Aggies, but Texas thought they were surging for the jumbo athlete. However, during his visit to College Station today, Armstrong made the decision to commit to Texas A&M football.
Armstrong is one of the most highly-sought-after recruits in not just the lone star state, but the entire nation. His athleticism and versatility make him a premier piece on offense. Texas, LSU, Alabama, and other programs were all after Armstrong in a major way, but the Aggies were able to win out.
Armstrong is one of three bigtime TE prospects that the Aggies are after, the others being five-star Linkon Cure and four-star Nic Townsend. Each of these three guys plays a slightly different role, optimally speaking, so it is conceivable—especially with what the Aggies can show with the Collin Klein offense—that A&M could go three-for-three, even if it is unlikely.
This is another bigtime win for Mike Elko and this Texas A&M football staff. Armstrong, the 110th-ranked player in the 247Sports composite, becomes the third-highest ranked commit for Texas A&M, behind QB Husan Longstreet and CB Adonyss Currie.
There are still several big time recruits on campus for Texas A&M football at the moment, including four-star DL DJ Sanders, five-star CB Dijon Lee, and five-star S Trey McNutt. The Aggies are well-positioned for a lot of big names here coming into the summer, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some big time dominos begin to fall here as we move through June and into July.
