Texas A&M football lands only one player in EA Sports College Football 25's top 100

If this is anything to go by, this Texas A&M football team will have plenty of opportunity to surprise college football fans this fall.

Nic Scourton is Texas A&M football's lone representative in EA College Football 25's top 100 players

Texas A&M football is, unbelievably, just about 6 and a half weeks from kicking off against Notre Dame. Fans will be able to scratch their college football itch much sooner than that, though, as EA College Football 25 will soon be on the market.

The game, which will release on July 19, has had quite the long ramp-up—over ten years, in fact! Of course, it's only been in development here recently, but the hype leading up to the game actually coming out has been pretty wild.

EA has done a great job marketing it so far, leveraging the long college football offseason to their maximum advantage. Gameplay previews and different lists based on aspects of the game have been rolled out in the leadup to the now-imminent release of the game.

Only nine days from the title becoming available, we now know quite a lot about how things will look, including for Texas A&M football fans. A list of the top 100 players in the game was released today, and the Aggies only have one representative—Nic Scourton at 88th overall.

This means that guys like Conner Weigman, Bryce Anderson, Shemar Turner, Shemar Stewart, and more have all failed to make the cut for the top 100 players.

If you ask me, this is evidence of a perception that I think will be completely flipped following the season. The Aggies remain one of the most talented teams in the nation by any metric, and I think Elko and this coaching staff will be able to fully take advantage of the skill on campus in a way that Jimbo was unable to do. In other words, I think that most people will consider Conner Weigman better than Georgia TE Oscar Delp by the end of the year.

Scourton himself is a worthy nomination—look no further than the absolute havoc he wreaked in the A&M spring game for evidence of that. He may end up the best player on the team this fall, but I think there will be several more that will make a name for themselves.
