Texas A&M football lands their QB for the 2025 class, as Husan Longstreet makes verbal pledge to Aggies
Count another one in the win column for Mike Elko, Collin Klein, and this Texas A&M football staff. The Aggie offensive coordinator identified his top target at the signal caller position in this upcoming class and zeroed in—and now, his hard work has paid off.
QB Husan Longstreet, of Centennial High School in Corona, California, annoucned today that he was committing to Texas A&M football.
As I've mentioned, Longstreet has been the top target for the Aggie coaching staff at the signal caller position in this class. One needs look no farther than his rating to realize that this guy is a special talent. Ranked as the 29th player in the nation by the 247Sports composite, Longstreet should earn five-star distinction sooner rather than later.
The Aggies had to weather a late charge by Hugh Freeze and Auburn, but the lead they had built in this one was too large for War Eagle to overcome.
For good reason, quarterbacks are usually the "pied piper" of a given class: other prospects tend to rally around them and are more disposed to commit when there's a high-value player at the position who has already made a pledge. For that reason as well, it was imperative that Klein, Elko, and company get this one sewn up sooner rather than later. I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing some more high-value commitments streaming in soon—especially with the level of prospect that the Aggies have been hosting on campus recently.
For all these reasons, getting Longstreet in the boat early is a huge deal for the Aggie coaching staff. This is a guy who has the potential to be the future of your program at the most important position on the field, and you've gotten a player that is consummately talented to fill that role.
