Texas A&M football makes cut for five-star Lewisville offensive tackle Michael Fasusi; has visited College Station each of last two weekends

As Texas A&M football fans well know, it's tough to field an excellent team without excellent play in the trenches on either side of the ball. The 2020 Texas A&M football team, a 1-loss team against an all-SEC schedule and Orange Bowl champions, had a great defensive line and a stellar offensive line.

Since that season, though, things have been very up and down on the offensive front in particular. The Aggies have had their fair share of destructive defensive lines, but the offensive fronts have lagged behind.

Things could be different this year under a new regime. Texas A&M football fans certainly are hopeful that that is the case. As the Aggies look to the future, however, it's tough to overlook the fact that this 2025 crop of prospects in the state of Texas includes quite a number of top talent along the offensive line.

Chief among that number is Lewisville offensive tackle Michael Fasusi. Fasusi ranks 11th overall in the 247 Composite and is the second-rated tackle overall behind Charlotte, NC's David Sanders.

Elko and company have made Fasusi a priority early, and those efforts are already paying off. The big offensive lineman from DFW named his top group today, and the Aggies made the cut.

This is a big time move for the Aggies. If you believe the rumor mill, the new A&M coaching staff had a ton of ground to make up for the Aggies to be in this race at all, and they are now right at the top. Fasusi has been on campus for a visit each of the last two weekends and has an official visit scheduled for this summer as well.

As you might expect with a prospect of this caliber, this will go right up until signing day. There's quite a distance yet to go in this race, but the Aggies have positioned themselves well here at the beginning. We'll be watching this recruitment closely as things continue on.
