Texas A&M football makes top group for LB Mason Posa, top player in New Mexico

Texas A&M football got an early start on their linebacker class for the 2025 cycle. With the commitment of Kelvion Riggins, the longtime Aggie target out of Forney, Texas, Mike Elko got this 2025 group started in a big way.

The Aggies have since added eleven more commitments to Riggins, but none of them have come from the linebacker position. That could change very soon, as one of A&M's top targets at the position, Noah Mikhail, is set to announce at the end of next month.

The other big name on the board for the Aggies—if you don't count five-star Jonah Williams, who has linebacker size but plays safety—is La Cueva (NM) LB Mason Posa. Posa is ranked as the 154th overall player by 247Sports and is a solid four-star prospect—and he just included the Aggies in his top group.

I like that he chose the picture of Reveille with the tiara on, by the way. I kind of wonder if anyone noticed that before he posted it.

Posa stands at 6'3", 210 LBs—an SEC-ready frame, especially if he can add some more weight. He has the size and skills to roam sideline to sideline or come off the edge, if needed. He recorded 99 tackles and 14 TFLs last year, included 7 sacks.

The Aggies look to have the last word with Posa, as he is visiting College Station on June 21 to wrap up his OV slate to these three schools. If they can get him in the boat, it'll be a really nice add for Mike Elko. Posa has great tape and size, and is exactly the kind of player this Texas A&M football staff wants in the middle of their defense.
