Texas A&M football recruiting rumors: Aggies set for double-commit day next weekend?
Recruiting rumors: Could Texas A&M football be in for two big offensive commits on the same day?
Recruiting is starting to kick back up for Texas A&M football as the spring rolls on. It seems like every weekend there's some significant news on that front for the Aggies—and, if all goes well, it seems that this weekend will be no different.
One of the top visitors over the past two weekends was Corona, CA quarterback Husan Longstreet. Among the first signal-callers in his class to receive an Elite 11 invite, Longstreet is one of the most highly-regarded passers in the class. He visited Texas A&M football two the weekend before last, markign his second visit after being on campus for the February 3rd Junior Day.
Longstreet, without much time passing after he received several predictions to commit to the Aggies, set his commitment date for April 14. You don't have to read too much in between the lines to see why that's a good sign for the Aggies. They had to weather an official visit that Longstreet took to Auburn this past weekend, but they appear to still be in good shape.
If Longstreet does indeed end up giving his pledge to the Maroon and White, that would be cause enough for celebration. However, there's another target high on the Aggies' board who is announcing that same day.
Yesterday, Marcus Garcia, an interior offensive lineman from Denton, Texas, set his own commitment date—also for April 14. Garcia is another recent visitor to College Station, and another player who has received predictions to Texas A&M football.
While Garcia is not as highly-rated as Longstreet, he projects well along the line. He already has ideal height at 6'5", and a frame that can pack on much more than the 270 LBs at which he is currently listed. Though the star rating may not be the same as a guy like Longstreet, this would be another pickup that would have the staff in Bright overjoyed.
So, will this happen? As unlikely as it sounds, I'm feeling like it might just. Keep your eyes peeled next Sunday—it could be a big day for Texas A&M football.
