Jimbo Fisher set a precedent for a huge recruiting event at the end of the summer, and it looks like this new Texas A&M football staff is keeping that alive.

Texas A&M football set to host Aaron Gregory, #2 overall WR in 2026, in College Station this weekend

Depending on who you ask, receiver is either the number one or number two need for Texas A&M football this cycle. While the Aggies are locked in some battles for top-flight talent in the 2025 cycle, Holmon Wiggins and company are also looking forward to 2026.

This summer is the time to get in early on top prospects from the sophomore class and make sure your program is a presence in their recruitment as they approach their junior year. It looks like Texas A&M football is eyeing just such a strategy with a big name for the 2026 class, as the Aggies are set to host 2026 WR Aaron Gregory this Friday.

Gregory is ranked as the #2 wide receiver in the country for the 2026 cycle per On3. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the #5 receiver overall, but still well into future five-star territory as the 29th-ranked player in the nation. In other words, this would be a pretty big get.

Of course, it will always be difficult to pull any highly-ranked prospect out of Georgia when you’re going up against the Bulldogs, whom Gregory is scheduled to visit directly after he stops through College Station. You never know, though—it wouldn’t be the first time the Aggies have pulled highly-rated guys right out from under UGA’s nose.

With just under two years left before he graduates, though, there’s obviously a long way to go in this one. Making an early impression is definitely important, and this is an event that has made waves with recruits in the past, so this is a definite positive for Wiggins, Elko, and the Aggies.
