Texas A&M football transfer center Bryce Foster commits to Kansas Jayhawks
Without a doubt, the biggest outgoing name in the spring football window for Texas A&M football was center Bryce Foster. Back in the 2021 cycle, Foster was a big win for the Aggies as a top-100 recruit who chose Texas A&M over Oklahoma and others. He stepped in immediately to play center in the upcoming season, and acquitted himself well in his first year.
However, his next two seasons were not quite as successful. Given, he had to deal with an injury that sidelined him for the latter half of 2022, but in the time he saw the field over the last two seasons, he wasn't quite up to the form he displayed early on.
There was a lot of thought that this had to do with the change in OL coaching; when Steve Addazio came in, the line play across the board really seemed to take a step back. Of course, Aggie fans had been unhappy in 2021 after the dominant year they had in 2020, but it was a severe drop in that 2022 season. Things didn't get a whole lot better in 2023.
Even with the Addazio factor, though, fans began to voice some dissatisfaction with Foster in particular. This mainly had to do with the fact that he was missing spring practice in order to participate with the track team—something that had been a known quantity since he came to the Aggies.
Missing this past spring, however, may have been too much, given that it was with a new staff. Foster, after not participating in spring football, entered his name into the portal.
We now know where he intends to head, as he has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks.
This is a big get for Kansas, as they usually do not bring in players of Foster's pedigree when it comes to high school rating. His ceiling is still quite high, so he has the potential for great success in Lawrence if he can put it all together.
We wish you the best, Bryce!
