Despite a disappointing 2023, the Aggies have quite a few players heading to the NFL Draft. With 11 players’ names entered, surely TAMU fans will get to see some of their favorites go on to play in the league.

However, I don’t think every name out of the 11 will be called.

Here is who I believe will get drafted and who will have to hold out hope for free agency:

Edgerrin Cooper had an absolutely incredible 2023 season which led to a big boost in his draft stock. Ranked highly for the linebacker position pool, as high as second according to Luke Easterling from FanNation, Cooper will be a force in the NFL. He was named to the Senior Bowl All-American defensive team.

Round 4, Pick 115 – McKinnley Jackson DL

At 320 pounds, McKinnley Jackson has surprisingly explosive speed of the snap. His pure strength and high motor speed will lead to success at the professional level. Despite an injury during his junior year, he came back with a vengeance in 2023. Jackson had 27 tackles, 3 sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery last season.

Undrafted free agents:

  • Ainias Smith – WR
  • Aki Ogunbiyi – OG
  • Chris Morris – OL
  • Demani Richardson – S
  • Demond Demas – WR
  • Donell Harris Jr. – DL
  • Josh DeBerry – CB
  • Layden Robinson – OG
  • Luke Matthews – C
