Texas A&M baseball fans show up in droves to Omaha to support Aggies in pursuit of a National Championship
If you ask any fan of college sports about the best fan bases across the country, there’s no doubt that Texas A&M will be at or near the top of many lists. In fact, the 12th Man is often cited as one of the best traditions in the sport precisely because of the passion of the Aggie fan base.
It should be no surprise, then, that the Aggies have descended upon Omaha in bunches to watch their beloved Texas A&M baseball team compete for a national championship. With trademark Aggie spirit, the A&M fanbase has been ready for this game even far before the time when the team left the hotel. Check out this video from Texags and Billy Liucci:
Nothing sums up the spirit of this Aggie fanbase better than hundreds of fans standing in the lobby of the hotel, waiting to send off their team to the stadium where the game is to be played, singing the War Hymn loudly and proudly.
There’s a reason everyone has fallen into the habit of referring to A&M as a cult. The devotion to their school that Aggie fans have is a feature, not a bug, of loving the Maroon and White. There’s a reason the spirit can ne’er be told, in other words: the unmatched faithfulness that Aggies have to the various A&M teams stands out even in a sport characterized by radical fandom.
One things is for sure: win or lose, the fans will have the back of this Texas A&M baseball team. Here’s hoping that the 12th Man leaves Omaha jubilantly.
