This Texas A&M baseball team has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of

Texas A&M baseball fought tooth and nail throughout adversity after adversity, and though they just fell short, they shouldn't hang their heads.

Even though the season ended in defeat, Texas A&M baseball showed heart and grit through adversity

This wasn't the way Texas A&M baseball fans wanted the season to end. There's no doubt about that. It's a heartbreaker to get this far only to fall just short—and I mean just short. The final tally of runs throughout the three games of the weekend was dead even; this was as close of a series as you can get.

However painful it is, though, this Aggie squad has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. The fire and competitive spirit they showed throughout this run—throughout this whole season, really—united the fanbase in support, bringing in players from former Aggie teams and other sports on campus.

The way they showed up time and time again, battling through adversity and setbacks, was inspiring. The skill with which they did it was one thing, but the heart that they displayed game in and game out was what really made Aggie fans fall in love with this team.

At the end of things, they came up short. That's how the game goes sometimes. But to have made it this far, especially with everything this team was dealing with, was absolutely massive. This run alone looks to have been the reason several players from around the country have resolved to join the Aggies next year and beyond, bolstering this roster for more College World Series runs in the future.

This is a team that played deep into June. This is a team that rolled with the punches, embraced their coach's philosophy, and has a direction moving forward. This is a team that acquitted themselves with honor.

No, this team has absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. They have nothing to be embarrassed about. There are a few programs I can think of that have conducted themselves shamefully over the last few weeks, but the Aggies have played valiantly in this stretch. They never complained, they blocked out the noise, and they kept chipping away.

In the end, it was almost enough.
