Underrated SEC teams in preseason poll: Alabama

No, Kalen DeBoer is not Nick Saban—and he won't be. But I think people are maybe proclaiming the death of the Tide far too soon.

While I'm not necessarily high on Jalen Milroe, I still think this will be a really good Tide team. Maybe the image of Quinn Ewers floating a gentle pass into the arms of Xavier Worthy to help cement the Longhorn victory in Tuscaloosa is still stuck in the minds of the voters, but I think Bama will still be better than Texas.

Looking at the schedule for both the Tide and Longhorns, it's far easier for me to find losses for the latter than it is for the former. 9-3 (even 8-4) is a real possibility for Sarkisian, while a lot would have to go wrong for the Tide to fall to that mark.

Much relies on the early-season matchup between Bama and Georgia on September. If the Tide can pull that one out, where would you find two more losses on the schedule? They'd be favored in each of their other games.

Maybe it's chalk (and therefore boring), but I think we see the Tide and Bulldogs in Atlanta once again this December. I could be proven wrong, but that's my gut feeling on this.
