Three reasons Texas A&M baseball can defeat Tennessee in game 1 of the College World Series Final

It’s almost time, Texas A&M baseball fans. The final hurdle is approaching quickly, as the Aggies will take on the Volunteers in the first of a three-game series tonight on ESPN.

These have been the two best teams in the sport, without a doubt, for the duration of the season. The Aggies’ combination of an extremely dangerous batting lineup with a much improved pitching staff made the team to be feared; the Vols’ explosive offense threatened every team they faced.

It’s easy to say with hindsight, but it truly does feel like this two teams have been on a collision course over the last few months of the season. The early matchup in the SEC tournament loser’s bracket was a game lacking in hype in a disappointing milieu; now, these two squads square off in a venue more befitting their quality.

So who has the upper hand here? Which team emerges victorious? Here are three reasons to believe in the Aggies.

Why Texas A&M baseball wins Game 1 of College World Series finals: Deep lineup

The headline-grabbers on this Texas A&M baseball team are evident when it comes to the batting. Jace LaViolette, Gavin Grahovac, and (the unfortunately injured) Braden Montgomery were a three-headed monster at the top of the lineup that struck fear into the hearts of opponents.

Even without Montgomery, the two-man game of LaViolette and Grahovac is something to reckon with. Gavin seems to be breaking out of an extended slump, and played quite well against the Vols in Hoover, so hopefully we’re in for a big night from him.

Even aside from those guys, though, we have seen players up and down the lineup show up time and time again. Whether it’s Kaeden Kent knocking a grand slam against Oregon to lift the Ags to victory or Ali Camarillo or Caden Sorrell notching a clutch hit, this Aggie squad gets the clutch hits that they need. The Vols may be able to match the Aggies in pure power in their top-line guys, but no one is deeper than Texas A&M baseball.
