Three reasons Texas A&M football hands Missouri their first loss of the season
Three reasons Texas A&M football beats Missouri: Conner will be back—and on his way back to form
Every single number I’ve broken down in regard to this matchup tells me the same thing: the Aggies need a pass game. Not only to win this game, but to be everything we know they can be going forward.
The prospects of that manifesting with Marcel Reed behind center, at this point, look slimmer than he does in the open field. Klein has schemed the Aggie receivers open on multiple occasions, but Reed has either failed to see them, refused to throw, or thrown inaccurately.
Conner Weigman will be a different story. Things looked pretty rough against Notre Dame, but that was the worst we’ve seen from him in his whole career. But since then, we saw a performance where he was basically perfect, suggesting that no, he is not in fact broken.
These receivers are growing into the offense, especially Terry Bussey. Jabre Barber is a guy who is getting better week by week after his own injury, and one who Weigman didn’t have available against Notre Dame.
No. 15’s prospective return will make the Aggie offense look way different than it has the past two weeks. While it’s not yet a sure thing by any stretch, I feel hopeful about it at the moment.
