Three takeaways from Texas A&M football's utter dismantling of Missouri Tigers

Texas A&M football just took apart a top-10 team with playoff dreams efficiently and systematically. Let's talk about what we learned.

Three takeaways from Texas A&M football's destruction of Missouri Tigers: Aggies a playoff contender?

It finally feels like we've seen what this Texas A&M football team can be in the right circumstances. Finally with a healthy quarterback in Conner Weigman, a defense that is playing nearly mistake-free (emphasis on nearly), and, most of all, competent coaching, this A&M team is looking like we all dreamed of in the offseason.

It all culminated yesterday against the Missouri Tigers. While Mizzou may not end the season as a top-10 squad, they are no pushover, and the Aggies manhandled them from start to finish.

This one was huge for A&M. Sitting at 5-1 and leading the SEC at 3-0, the Ags suddenly look like a surprise conference contender. They now have 5 straight wins, the longest since 2020, and have their arrow pointed directly up.

Let's talk about what we learned.

Three takeaways from Texas A&M football dismantling Missouri: Bye-bye, QB controversy

I predicted before the game that if Conner Weigman was good to go, then the QB controversy would be a thing of the past by the time the game ended. I get predictions wrong a lot, but I was right on the money with that one!

Conner ended the day with a QBR of 93.6, even though he didn't throw a single touchdown. Klein leaned on the run game down in the red zone, which I'm not complaining about, but adding a few TDs to Weigman's ledger is about the only thing you could say that would have improved the day he had.

How does this statline sound: 18/22 passing for 276. That's 12.5 yards per attempt on 82% completion. Conner was finding holes in zones, he was placing throws beautifully against man coverage, and making good decisions all day long.

The ceiling of this team is so much higher with this vertical element in the offense, just like I've been saying. If Conner can stay healthy, there is practically no ceiling on this team.
