Fall camp position battles for Texas A&M football - C

With the departure of Bryce Foster for Kansas, there’s a wide-open competition in the middle of the Aggie offensive line. This is maybe one of the most important races on the entire team, given the improvement needed along the offensive front for the Aggies to have a successful year.

In the mix are three worthy candidates: Mark Nabou, Kam Dewberry, and Utah transfer Koli Faaiu. Both Nabou and Dewberry have seen time at the center spot so far for the Aggies, though Nabou has been there far more than Dewberry has.

The pedigree of Dewberry coming out of high school would seem to trump Nabou’s, but the big OL out of O’Dea in Washington State is still my pick to emerge from this group. Faaiu could have something to say about it, but I really think Nabou is a star in the making up front.

If nothing else, the depth in the interior of the offensive line for the Aggies is really encouraging. It felt like, for a couple of years now, the Ags have been scraping together an OL, with a starter or two always feeling like a concession. Now, it really feels like there’s some solid depth at every position, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dewberry or Faaiu get some playing time anyway.
