Predicting Texas A&M football's starting lineup - S: Bryce Anderson, Marcus Ratcliffe

After Elko made no bones about the fact that Bryce would be playing safety rather than nickel, my first lineup prediction was already shot to pieces. You win some, you lose some!

No matter what position he plays on the back end, though, I think the nation will be put on notice by Anderson’s play this fall. He’s one of the most talented and brightest players on the entire team, and I foresee him thriving in Elko’s defense.

Ratcliffe was impressive in the spring game, and I’m excited for what he brings to this team. He played with an aggressive and physical style that commends him as a starter in what is admittedly a depleted room, but he would be challenging for a spot even if the Aggies hadn’t sustained the losses they ended up with.

Another name to watch here is Dalton Brooks. The safety from Shiner, Texas, made some big plays in the bowl game, including pulling down an interception and showcasing some physical tackles. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the starting lineup, either.
