Which games to watch in college football week 4: Renewed rivalries and early must-watches
Here we are in week four of college football. It's hard to believe that one-quarter of the regular season is already behind us—but there's still so much more to look forward to!
This week seems on first glance to be a classic case of one good game, and a bunch of mid games otherwise. But fear not: treasures abound! Kind of.
College football week 4 early window: First screen - NC State @ 21 Clemson (12 PM ET/11 AM CT, ABC)
This game seemed like it would be a lot better at the beginning of the season. You know, before NC State nearly lost to Western Carolina and got waxed by Tennessee. And Clemson got waxed by Georgia. All that stuff.
But this is another hurdle for the Tigers, who still have a solid hope of making the playoff if they can get past Miami, who looks to be the class of the ACC. I think the Tigers win this one, 31-20.
College football week 4 early window: Second screen - Florida @ Mississippi State (12 PM ET/11 AM CT, ESPN)
This may be the absolute worst football any of us see all year. And there's some beauty in that. Florida is a team that should have fired their coach several days ago, and Mississippi State just lost to Toledo. Whichever team wins this will feel way too confident for the next week, and I think that's pretty special. If Florida loses, they will be lucky to see three wins this year.
The Gators are still down a lot of players, but I think they just have too much talent against a team that is still way too green. Give me UF, 24-17.
