Can Texas A&M Football Bring Back DL Walter Nolen?

This is the big one—literally and figuratively!

I wrote some already in the intro about Walter and where things currently stand with him. He was the highest-rated recruit in that 2022 class and saw time immediately, flashing almost every time he was on the field. His quickness and agility at his size are astounding; you can see why he was rated so highly.

Nolen had a dominant stretch along with the best run of games the Aggie defense played in this past year. From the ULM game through about the Alabama game, it seemed like he was in the middle of almost every play.

Though he tailed off a bit at the end of the year due to injuries (as well as the Aggies facing better offensive lines!), Nolen is still a high-value player. He was immediately the top portal prospect when he announced, and all the typical players in the transfer scene were after him. He's taken visits to Oregon and Ole Miss, and the latter program seems to be the biggest threat for him at this point.

That said, the confidence on the Ole Miss side has somewhat waned recently. The Twitter rumor mill has been working overtime on this one, with some on both sides stating confidently that Walt will be ending up at their school.

With how quickly things change with the portal, it's always hard to make a prediction, especially with a recruitment as hotly contested as this one is. That said, given what I've been observing (all secondhand, admittedly), I'm feeling better and better about the Aggies' chances to bring Nolen back.
