Power program striving mightily to flip five-star Texas A&M football QB commit

Can Mike Elko and Collin Klein hold on to one of the key pieces from Texas A&M football's 2025 recruiting class?

With current Trojan commit Julian Lewis looking elsewhere, USC looking to flip Texas A&M football commitment Husan Longstreet

Texas A&M football has made some hay in the Golden State this recruiting cycle. The Aggies have notched four big time commitments from California in 2025: Husan Longstreet, Noah Mikhail, Adonyss Currie, and Marco Jones.

Of those four, Longstreet is probably the biggest name. Of course, being a quarterback automatically makes him a vital piece of the class—and he's the only one mentioned who is a five-star prospect.

Mike Elko and Collin Klein did a bang-up job to lock down his commitment so early on. They identified the guy they wanted and went all-in to get him in the boat earlier this year.

Now, though, they may face a new challenge. In-state USC is facing a QB recruiting crisis at the moment, as their current commitment—the high-profile Julian Lewis—is openly shopping around at other schools.

Given that development, and a likely flip from Southern Cal to another school like Colorado, it looks like USC has focused their attention on Longstreet, attempting to get him to flip away from the Aggies, according to Steve Wiltfong of On3.

The Aggies will have quite the battle on their hands down the stretch here, it looks like. It's hard to get a guy out of a state that has a blue-blood program all in on recruiting him, but it helps that the Aggies have had such a head start in this respect.

While Riley was looking elsewhere, the Aggies had zeroed in on Longstreet, and they haven't wavered. Hopefully, that loyalty on the side of the Maroon and White will pay dividends in this recruitment.
