Power ranking the SEC after week 3 - 4: Oklahoma

Another great showing from OU this week has made it clear that this is a squad that is really gaining a lot of momentum. They absolutely stonewalled Temple— admittedly, a far lesser team— in a near-perfect game.

Mateer continues to look like he’s everything that was promised for the Sooners. He’s got a lot of fire to him in addition to his skill, and he’s in a real flow state at this point in the Oklahoma offense. They may just be back, in other words.

They have a tough slate to prove it in, however. Temple is the last easy game of the entire schedule, as OU faces some skilled squads pretty much every week from here until the end of the year.

The Sooners have a home game against Auburn and the returning Jackson Arnold before they get a bye ahead of Red River. That game in Dallas will tell us a lot about the way the SEC stacks up.
