SEC power rankings after week 1 - 7: Ole Miss

Georgia State got Kiffin'ed in this one, as the Rebels never let off the gas pedal against the Panthers. It wasn't patently dominant at the half, with Ole Miss leading 25-7 at the break, but it ended up as a huge blowout.

Austin Simmons, my preseason pick to lead the SEC in passing, tossed a pair of interceptions, but piled up 341 yards through the air. Whatever way you get those yards, Austin! I have faith. Kind of.

Kewan Lacy and Logan Diggs look like a dangerous pair of backs, with Deuce Alexander providing a spark as well. Kiffin always seems to have a few dynamic runners in his stable up in Oxford, and it looks like this year is no exception.

Ole Miss is the platonic ideal of Indiana's presumption about SEC scheduling (that was tortured, but you get it), so they don't have a truly tough game until they play LSU in game five. Unless you count Tulane.

They'll look for revenge against Kentucky next week up in Lexington and host Arkansas after that, two cellar-dwellers in the conference. We'll see just how dominant the team is in those, but they have a chance to keep moving up.
