SEC power rankings after week 1 - 12: Auburn

It’s a little strange, but this was a pretty dominant victory for Auburn over a team that a lot of people think will be pretty good— and I’m not sure how much I’m moved by it.

The Tigers pushed Baylor around all over the place in that game. The Bears simply could not stop the much bigger and more skilled offensive line of the Tigers, nor could they reliably tackle against Singleton, Arnold, and Alston.

The worry for the Tigers is what will happen when they struggle to run the ball in upcoming games. Baylor doesn’t have a particularly intimidating defensive front, so it’s one thing to take it to them— but Jackson Arnold didn’t really inspire confidence in his passing ability in this game.

He made some pretty concerning mistakes at times— ones which the Tigers were able to overcome in this game, but can they going forward? He also struggled to take advantage of the great receiving corps that Auburn has. Something to watch going forward.
