Power ranking the SEC after rivalry week: 14 - Florida

When all else fails, you can at least get a rivalry win! The Gators somehow cobbled together a high-level offensive performance, spurred on by a huge day on the ground, to conquer the Seminoles down in the Swamp.

That puts a nice bow on a 4-8 stinker of a season— one in which the Gators began the year as a top-15 team somehow. The Gators now have to figure out what they're doing with a new coach in John Sumrall, whose number one job will be to retain some of the studs on the roster that the previous coach was able to bring in.

Dallas Wilson, Jadan Baugh, and others are clearly excellent weapons for Sumrall to use in his first year, but you have to think they're getting a lot of attention from other schools at this point. Whether UF can retain them is going to be big for their future moving forward.

Sumrall will be able to get to work immediately, as there is obviously no bowl that the Gators will have to worry about. UF still has the opportunity to be a top-tier program, but there are real questions about whether he is the guy to lead them there. We'll start to get our answer in, oh, just about ten months from now.
