Power ranking the SEC after week 11: #6 - South Carolina

The Gamecocks continue their ascent in these rankings. They just handed Vanderbilt their worst loss of the season (21 points) by far—the previous largest amount that the Commodores lost by was four—and they did so on the road.

This is a team on the rise in a lot of ways. The ferocious defense they’re playing down in Columbia is impressive week after week, and I have no doubt that they’re ready to get after either Brady Cook or Drew Pyne this weekend in the confines of Williams Brice.

The offense looks resurgent as well with a healthy Sellers and Rocket Sanders. This is a squad that could very easily be 8-1 right now, believe it or not, if those LSU and Alabama results went just slightly differently.

The Gamecocks welcome in Missouri next week before closing out against Wofford and at Clemson. The Palmetto Bowl, though it’s in the Upstate this year, will be pretty juicy once more this season.
