Power ranking the SEC after week 11: #3 - Alabama

The Tide are still hanging around… and hanging around… and hanging around. They are coming off a complete shellacking of LSU down in the Bayou, in a game where the Tigers looked completely lost on offense.

The blueprint was laid out in the second half of the Texas A&M game a couple of weeks ago. The simulated pressures and well-timed blitzes deployed by Kane Wommack’s group looked all-too-similar to what we saw out of Mike Elko and Jay Bateman in Kyle Field.

Jalen Milroe looked every bit of the Heisman contender he was made out to be earlier in the season. The run game helped carry the Crimson Tide to victory. But those two early losses still mean the chance to get to Atlanta is pretty low.

They’ll need some things to break their way, but they now have a pair of really solid wins in their victories over Georgia and LSU. That should be enough to keep them ranked highly by the committee and in a good spot headed into selection Sunday.
