Power ranking the SEC after week 11: #14 - Florida

I’m hedging a bit here in this ranking. If I were to rank Florida as they were constituted headed into last week’s game, they would have been the bottom of the heap. There are problems that go far beyond quarterback play, but the Gators’ third-stringer being behind center—not to mention no Eugene Wilson—means this is the worst team in the conference.

However, Lagway warmed up before the Texas game, so he may well be available for UF’s contest against LSU this weekend. I’ll keep my eye closely on that one for that reason, but as I say, there are still some systemic issues with the Gators.

Despite those, though, this is a program that has committed to move forward with Billy Napier into next year. Never mind that their recruiting is in the toilet and the portal is doubtless to hit them harder than a freight train. Billy’s the guy!

I joke, but I really am mystified by that move. Well, with the Gators on A&M’s schedule next year, at least there’s another likely win on the slate for the Aggies.
