Power ranking the SEC after week 11: #13 - Mississippi State

Even though they’re 2-8 right now, it really does feel like this Mississippi State team is playing much different ball right now than they were even at midseason. What was the worst defense in the Power 4 has taken some steps—they’re not good, still, but they’re not like they were.

They’ve also continued to look functional on offense, much more so than they did previously. The Bulldogs with Michael Van Buren at quarterback look like they can grow into a really problematic matchup for Jeff Lebby, and they may start pulling upsets regularly as soon as next year.

For now, though, they will probably finish 2-10. Although they do have Missouri on the schedule, who has looked pretty bad at times!
