Power ranking the SEC after week 11: #9 - Missouri

For several reasons, the Tigers have not had the season they envisioned. You can’t tell the story of this season for Missouri, though, unless you mention the injuries they’ve had to deal with at the quarterback position.

Brady Cook came into the year as one of the conference’s most ballyhooed signal callers, and though he has failed to live up to that hype in his own right, the Tigers have indeed been much worse without him. Drew Pyne is not really a suitable replacement for a team with aspirations like the Tigers have, but he got the job done against OU this weekend.

The defense for Missouri, at least, has been a pretty respectable unit so far this year. For as disappointing as the offense has been, their defense, in every game but one, has lived up to the hype.

They now face the dreaded back-to-back SEC road trip, however, going to South Carolina and Mississippi State over the next two weeks. In my mind, that all but guarantees another loss, and that’s before considering whether they can beat Arkansas to close the year.
