Power ranking the SEC after week four: 9 - Missouri
If you are reading this, they just called another holding penalty in the Missouri-South Carolina game.
Most of them were on the Gamecocks, of course, but Missouri triumphed in a frustrating flag fest up in Columbia yesterday evening. Beau Pribula showed why he's a problem on the ground as well as through the air, and Ahmad Hardy got his as well, racking up 138 yards on 23 carries.
Pribula was not exactly a revelation throwing the ball, only going 16/27 for 171 yards, a TD, and a pick, but he was good enough. The concerning thing is that htis was not really a great defense that he was facing, especially in the defensive backfield, so we are once again in wait-and-see mode on him as a passer.
Missouri has passed really the closest thing to a test they'll have in this first half of their schedule— all home games, mind you— and they now have three more to go when they host Alabama and Texas A&M later in the year, as well as travel to Oklahoma. DeBoer and company will be in town on October 11 and Texas A&M will play there on November 8, while Missouri heads to Norman on November 22.
The game at Vanderbilt all of a sudden looks tougher, of course, as does the game at Auburn. That's a back to back road trip, so one of those is probably a loss for this team. If Drinkwitz doesn't get to ten wins with this schedule, it will be considered a disappointment, so he had better buckle down and take down at least one team he's not expected to beat.
