Week five of college football did not disappoint, as exciting games both in the SEC and without dotted the day's schedule.
There were overtimes aplenty: highlights and must-see plays galore, as we've come to expect from the sport we all love. But when it comes to the nation's premier conference, there was certainly some shakeup in the hierarchy.
Let's see how it all shook out as we power rank the teams in the SEC.
Power ranking the SEC after Week 5 - 16: Kentucky
The Wildcats continue to dig a hole in the basement of the conference as they were summarily dismissed by the Gamecocks down in Columbia. There was a span of time where I thought I may have underestimated them coming into the season, given the fact that they pushed Ole Miss to the limit up in Lexington, but it looks like that was only fool's gold.
The 'Cats get Georgia next week in Athens, and they will be receiving the brunt of UGA's pent-up rage following the Bulldogs' loss to the Crimson Tide. Then, they get a bye week before they host Texas and Tennessee back to back.
There are some opportunities for wins down the stretch, but I'm not sure they'll be favored in any game outside of Tennessee Tech to close the year. These are some dark times in Lexington, as it looks like UK football could be headed back to a pre-Stoops era.
