Power ranking the SEC after Week 5 - 13: Auburn

The Tigers continue to look like they have one of the worst offenses in the entire conference, which is mind-boggling given the talent that they’ve assembled on that side of the ball. There are obvious pass protection issues, but to my eye, it’s the penalties that have hurt the Tigers more.

Jackson Arnold’s issues passing downfield continue to manifest with each passing week. He’s nigh completely unable to make use of the excellent receivers in Eric Singleton and Cam Coleman on a week to week basis— both were almost entirely ineffective this week against Texas A&M.

That said, this is still a team that scares you thanks to their pass rush and their skill. Jeremiah Cobb didn’t have a great day on Saturday, but he is a great back, Coleman and Singleton still stress opposing defenses, and the Auburn front is truly ferocious.

There needs to be some kind of change with the Tigers, but I’m not sure what could turn this season around. If Freeze is dismissed, it could provide some spark, but I think the issues go deeper.
