Power ranking the SEC after Week 5 - 12: Texas
The Longhorns get to bask in their 55-point win over a high school for a second straight week, as they have another bye. They have been treated to a bevy of Arch Manning highlights over the weekend, by which I mean receivers plucking bullet passes off the ground.
Texas will travel to Florida next week in what will most likely be a low-scoring, defensive battle. Unless these two all-world recruits in DJ Lagway and the aforementioned Manning suddenly learn how to throw the ball, I don’t see a lot of points getting scored down in Gainesville.
Again, the Texas defense has looked like a legit unit so far, but there are still some points of concern even there. Maybe the UF rushing offense will be able to put them to the test, but without much passing offense to speak of for the Gators right now, it’s hard to say just how effective they can be on the ground.
