Power ranking the SEC after week 6 - 6: LSU
The Tigers— guess what?— also had a week off this past Saturday! They're still stinging down in Baton Rouge after the loss to Ole Miss in Oxford last week, and are regrouping ahead of a stretch that includes South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M.
Brian Kelly's team needs to go 3-0 here to reclaim some momentum, and it's not the biggest ask in the world for them to do so. The trip to Vandy is a classic trap game, so they'll need to watch themselves on that one, but their game against A&M comes with the Aggies in the middle of a three-game road trip.
First things first, of course— they need to take care of a South Carolina team that they are much better than on paper. Of course, when your offense is as troubled as what we're seeing from Joe Sloan's unit, the margins will be a little less emphatic than what most Tiger fans want to see.
I'm not sure what's going on with Garrett Nussmeier's injury, but if he comes out and starts slinging it around, we'll know he's back to form. That's certainly appeared to be a factor thus far in the year (though the ability to run the ball has all but completely disappeared as well), so we'll need to see what happens when he faces off with Carolina this week.
