Power ranking the SEC after week 6 - 4: Ole Miss

The Rebels rested on their laurels this weekend after defeating LSU last Saturday, enjoying another week of a top-four ranking before Washington State comes to town this Saturday. The first big test of the year for the Rebels was one they passed with flying colors, and they only have two to go.

The problem is that both are on the road in back to back weeks. They travel to Georgia on the 18th before venturing to Norman on the 25th— both are games against current top-25 teams.

Experience would tell us that the Rebels drop at least one of those two contests. It's extremely rare for SEC teams to win back to back conference road games at all, much less against ranked competition.

If they win both of those, though, they should be viewed as nothing less than one of the top three contenders for the national title. That's the kind of gauntlet that championship teams are forged in, so to emerge unscathed would be very telling.
