Power ranking the SEC after week 6 - 1: Texas A&M

Defense ruled the day in the first half of the Aggies’ game, which was another frustrating one for A&M fans. The Ags should have been up 14-3 at the half, but some miscues along the offensive line with only a yard to go to the end zone ended up costing them a chance at a score.

The Aggies poured it on in the second half, though, shutting down the Bulldogs throughout the third and most of the fourth quarters. MSU only scored once the Aggies put their backups in on the front seven and Blake Shapen actually had time to throw downfield— something he was lacking for most of the day.

The offensive output in that second half was really encouraging for A&M fans— committing to the run seemed to help Marcel Reed settle down a lot when he was asked to pass the ball, and he was on target for the majority of his throws down the stretch of the game.

Texas A&M will host a Florida team next week that comes into Kyle Field with newfound belief, and a team with all that skill can't simply be written off. However, it's definitely a game that the Aggies should win— and if they do, they'll be 6-0 for the first time in nearly a decade.
