Power ranking the SEC after week 6 - 10: South Carolina

The Gamecocks were off this week ahead of a trip to Baton Rouge, where Carolina is hoping for a measure of revenge. LSU's trip to Columbia last year was marred by some issues with the referees that ended up tipping the game in the Tigers' favor, but if SC wants some retribution, I'm not sure that Death Valley at night will be the place to get it.

LaNorris Sellers looked much more like himself against Kentucky last week, but the UK defense is not the unit they usually are, apparently. If you look at the yardage totals for both teams in that game, too, it looks like a far closer contest than it ended up being.

That said, with LSU's offense operating the way they currently are, this could be a low-scoring slugfest. In games like that, one play or another could tip the scales and determine the outcome, and Carolina certainly has the players to make an impact like that.

It won't be an easy ask, but the Gamecocks are in desperate need of a win in this game. Of course, so are Brian Kelly and company, so this will be a really entertaining watch if nothing else.
