Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #6 - Missouri

Missouri responded in a big way to last week’s decisive loss to Texas A&M, blowing out UMass just like they should have. It’s strange to see an SEC team take a road trip to Amherst to play the Minutemen, but that’s exactly what we saw this previous Saturday.

There were all the ingredients for a letdown performance out of Mizzou coming into this one—early kick, strange opponent and venue, coming off of a bad loss, etc.—but they took care of business.

That said, their improvement in positioning from last week to this week has more to do with teams sliding down than the Tigers moving up. There are still some significant questions for Mizzou, but they still have a solid shot at the playoff.

Their last remaining huge game, at Alabama, looks much more winnable now than it did previously. They can make a statement against lowly Auburn this week as well. If they do so, the Tigers will be right back on track.
