Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #5 - Tennessee

I’m really not sure what we’re seeing out of Tennessee. The Vols looked like one of the most dominant teams in the league early on, but the offense has simply abandoned them so far in league play.

Maybe the NC State game was a bit of fool’s gold, though I’m not sure anyone considered it a massive win. The defense we saw out of the Vols there has stayed with them, but the dynamic offense has all but evaporated.

Still, though, it has only resulted in one loss so far. Alabama is coming to town this week, though, for a huge rivalry game. The Tide defense has looked below par for their standards, so this could be a game where the Vols get back on track a little bit.

A top-10 bout at home will be must-see TV this Saturday, and Neyland is sure to be packed. A win over the Tide would put the Vols right back in the thick of things for the College Football Playoff.
