Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #15 - Auburn

Auburn had a very welcome bye week after a rough 2-4 stretch to start the season off. The Tigers have lost two home games that they absolutely needed to win in Arkansas and Cal, and came out on the wrong side of a toss-up against OU.

The lack of an offensive identity is a big player here. The Tigers have some stud receivers, but they’re more of a run-based attack with some occasional shots downfield.

Of course, the quarterback situation has a lot to do with that. Payton Thorne is not a guy who can lead you to the promised land, and neither, apparently, is Hank Brown—at least at this point in his development.

The Tigers have two more games on the road to close out October before returning home against a dangerous Vandy team to start November. Missouri will be a huge test for Auburn; it’s not out of the question that they come away with the victory, but it’s a big ask. A trip to Kentucky the following week won’t be any easier.
