Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #12 - UK

After beating a top-five Ole Miss squad two weeks ago, the Wildcats have come back down to earth a little bit. It was a hard-fought game down in Oxford, but against a defense that had been playing stellar ball for most of the year.

But now, after managing only 13 points against Vanderbilt, a lot of big questions are emerging about the Wildcats. They have a stout defense, no doubt, but they haven’t scored more than 20 points against a P4 team yet this year.

Florida will be a flashpoint for this Wildcat squad. After the long, long losing streak was broken a few years ago, any win over the Gators, whether you’re favored or not, is still big to Kentucky fans. But it now looks significantly tougher than it did even a week ago.

The Wildcats could finish with seven wins if they pull off an upset; eight if they pull off a pair. That’s a big ask down the stretch here, but it’s not quite out of the question—as long as the offense gets something figured out here presently.
