Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #9 - Vanderbilt

Vandy just keeps winning. The Commodores will host Ball State this week in what should be an easy win directly before they will welcome in yet another highly-ranked team who will be coming to town off of a home game against Georgia.

Now, I’m not saying it’s likely that they upset Texas, but it’s funny how the schedule shakes out. If the Commodores beat Ball State, they will only need one more win for bowl eligibility—and with a remaining schedule of the Longhorns, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU, and Tennessee, it’s really not that far out of the question that they get two more.

Diego Pavia continues to defy expectations. Against a really stout Kentucky defense, he played valiantly once more, along with former Aggie QB-turned-TE Eli Stowers. This Commodore defense is making some noise as well, it should be said.

Clark Lea has done a really impressive job up in Nashville this year, and his seat has cooled considerably as a result. As they gear up for the stretch run, things are looking pretty sunny for Vandy.
