Power ranking the SEC after week 7: #8 - LSU

Talk about a dramatic win. The Tigers managed to pull together in the final moments of Saturday night’s game against Ole Miss to knock off the Rebels, a result which transformed Jaxson Dart into a concerningly brooding, hooded figure in the postgame.

Of course, it should be said that it is exceedingly rare for teams to win both halves of a back-to-back SEC road trip. The Rebels are the first team to encounter that scheduling quirk this year, and they went 1-1. LSU themselves is about to embark on such a road trip, however, to Fayetteville and College Station.

If LSU wins both games—a tough prospect to envision, given that Vegas has the first game as a near toss-up, and they’re unlikely to be favored against the Aggies—then they’re a true contender for the SEC championship. Those are some long odds, however.
