Power ranking the SEC after week 9: #3 - Alabama

DeBoer’s team got a much-needed, dominant win over Missouri after two losses in three games. The 34-0 shutout was definitely aided by Brady Cook’s limited play and absence for part of the game, but it was impressive nonetheless.

Like the Bayou Bengals, Alabama has a bye before the showdown in Baton Rouge on November 9. The Tide are 1-2 in road games so far this year, and that’s with one of the venues being in Nashville, so I’m interested to see how they handle Death Valley in DeBoer’s first trip down there.

LSU exhibited an extreme susceptibility to the quarterback run this past week, so who knows how they’ll be able to defend Milroe. I’m wondering how well this Bama defense is rounding into form, too—after less-than-stellar performances against Georgia, Vandy, and South Carolina, they’ve looked pretty salty against Tennessee and Missouri.

Of course, neither of those are world-beaters on the offensive front, apparently, especially when you take into account Missouri’s injury situation. One thing is for sure: they’ll be tested against LSU through the air in a way that they haven’t been since Georgia rolled into Tuscaloosa.
