Power ranking the SEC after week 9: #1 - Georgia

The Bulldogs remain atop the rankings here, even over the bye. A&M closed the gap with them to a degree, but I’ve still got UGA as the number one team this week.

The biggest thing that concerns me is Carson Beck’s recent trend of tossing interceptions with shocking regularity. A guy who was supposed to be one of the most accurate in the conference has suddenly become completely inept on random downs throughout the game, adding a concerning amount of inconsistency to this UGA offense.

Of course, the run game has really come on in recent weeks as well. I think we see them lean on Trevor Etienne to take down his former squad this week, and maybe Beck’s arm is a secondary element here.

The defense, after some early struggles (namely against Alabama) is looking better, though. The Mississippi State game had some concerned, but it was a late-game rally and some big, explosive plays that got State their 31 points.
